Both Tether (USDT) and Dai (DAI) are USD-pegged stablecoins, but they operate on different blockchain networks and through different mechanisms—USDT is issued by Tether, while DAI is generated through the MakerDAO protocol. Users swap USDT for DAI to access DAI's DeFi-native design, to rebalance between stablecoin types, or to move liquidity into decentralized finance platforms where DAI is the preferred settlement asset.
Open the exchange widget and select USDT as the send currency and DAI as the receive currency. The widget shows the live rate and the minimum amount for this pair.
Enter the amount of USDT you want to exchange and choose a fixed or floating rate.
Paste your DAI wallet address into the recipient field and double-check it. Select the network your wallet supports -- the receive network must match where your address lives.
Click Exchange and send your USDT to the deposit address shown. Your DAI arrives once the transaction confirms on-chain.
USDT and DAI are both available on multiple networks including Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, and Arbitrum. You must send USDT from the same network where you will receive DAI—if you send USDT on Polygon, you must receive DAI on Polygon. If you are sending USDT on TON, include the required memo exactly as shown, or your funds may be delayed. Before confirming, verify your receive address is correct, check that both assets are on the same network, and confirm that your receiving wallet supports the network and asset you have selected.
